A brief description of the institution's stormwater management initiatives:
The university works closely with the City of Winston-Salem to develop the best management practice for each construction project. All parties involved with the project will collaborate on the needs and most feasible strategy to implement during the construction phase as well as permanent solutions. The university adheres to the stringent requirements of the city stormwater ordinance (see URL). All storm drains on campus are placarded with warning signs to prevent illicit discharge. The university also conducted a comprehensive drain survey to ensure all drains are correctly tied to the appropriate discharge system.
