A brief description of the institution’s main campus and other aspects of the institutional boundary used to complete this report:
Virginia Wesleyan University's main campus, straddling the border of Virginia Beach and Norfolk Virginia, is used for this report.
Excluded from the institutional boundary is Lakeland University Japan/VWU Global, a jointly operated campus in Japan and Chesapeake Bay Academy, a small independent grade 1-12 school whose facility is on VWU property.

Which of the following features are present on campus and which are included within the institutional boundary?:
Present? Included?
Agricultural school No No
Medical school No No
Other professional school with labs or clinics (e.g. dental, nursing, pharmacy, public health, veterinary) No No
Museum No No
Satellite campus Yes No
Farm larger than 2 hectares or 5 acres No No
Agricultural experiment station larger than 2 hectares or 5 acres No No
Hospital No No

The rationale for excluding any features that are present from the institutional boundary:
Lakeland University Japan (LUJ) is a Bachelor’s and Associate of Arts Degree-granting liberal arts institution. In April 2020, Virginia Wesleyan University and Lakeland University of Plymouth, Wisconsin, established an exclusive agreement to jointly operate a campus in Tokyo expanding the name to Lakeland University Japan and Virginia Wesleyan University Global (LUJ/VWU Global). Lakeland University Japan/VWU Global owns no physical buildings at this time and enrolls less than 400 students. Many campus policies were in place before VWU joined the partnership. Additionally, the faculty, staff, and operations for the LUJ/VWU Global is distinct from that of the VWU main campus. Curriculum, for example is distinct from that of Virginia Wesleyan University, with VWU faculty committees and faculty assembly having no oversight over curriculum.

Tidewater Collegiate Academy (TCA) is a private homeschool which serves as an innovative learning center for diverse PK-12th grade students and is housed on the VWU campus. It serves approximately 40 students. As it operates primarily independently from VWU, it was not included in reporting. TCA's utilities (power and water) however are not separately metered, so they were not excluded from our total purchased electricity.

Chesapeake Bay Academy is an independent school dedicated to serving students grades 1-12. Although its facility is on VWU property, it operates independently from VWU and was not included in this report. Their electricity and water usage are metered separately from the rest of campus.

The Coastal 61 apartment complex was also excluded from this report. It was created as a public/private partnership between VWU and The Franklin Johnston Group in 2019 and occupies 12.8 acres of University owned land across from the campus on Wesleyan Drive. The Earth Craft Certified apartments are intended to provide housing for the general community, and not the Virginia Wesleyan University community. Because it was constructed in a residential community, the the local civic league and city implemented eligibility requirements which greatly limit the number of undergraduate students eligible to apply. The university's residence life office has no influence on the apartment complex, which is managed by a private company. All utilities are metered separately from the university.
