A brief description of the institution’s program to support employee volunteering:
VWU encourages faculty to develop and implement engagement into their curriculum and to participate in such activities. Faculty development funds are set aside for such activities. Staff may participate in the pop-up engagement activities (invasive species removal, seed bomb making, campus clean-ups, etc.) without taking time off. In the fall, faculty and staff are encouraged to participate in the day of engagement during Homecoming week. In celebration of MLK Jr. Day, service events are organized on and off campus.
