Student Sustainability Research Incentives

Community Engagement Fellowship - provides financial assistance to fellows who cultivate opportunities for community engagement. The current fellows are focused on campus sustainability and incarcerated individuals.
Our campus has 5 new community gardens that encourage community participation (and thereby education). The gardens employ multiple farming methods (w/ and w/o deer fencing, straw bale gardening, and raised bed gardening). Our yield does not surpass campus use, but should it, our fellows have arranged a partnership with a local food pantry.

A faculty member's research and service to the institution, community, and the Church are considered in promotion and tenure decisions. Research is supported financially and in community through Meade Seminars (opportunities to engage colleagues in discussion during a period of research and publication) and inaugural lectures (opportunity to share work in a discipline upon promotion).
