Students are given the chance each academic year to propose a sustainable idea that they would like to see implemented on campus in Blacksburg. Their proposal must include funding and return on investment information and it must relate to the university's climate action commitment.
A brief description of the multi-stakeholder decision-making process used to determine which projects receive funding through the sustainability projects fund:
Proposals that support Virginia Tech's Climate Action Commitment, produce realizable savings, and require one-time funding are given preference, but proposals that require ongoing funding for maintenance are also considered.
