State Council of Higher Education in Virginia (SCHEV) Research Report E5 "Enrolled Credit Hours and FTE, Academic Year 2015-2016" is used for headcount and Full-Time Equivalent figures.

We are using data from Academic Year 2018-2019 for consistency.

We have 11 academic divisions: CALS (College of Agriculture and Life Sciences), CAUS (College of Architecture and Urban Studies), COB (College of Business) COE (College of Engineering), CLAHS (College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences), CNRE (College of Natural Resources and Environment), COS (College of Science), CVM (College of Veterinary Medicine), VTCSOM (Virginia Tech Carillion School of Medicine), the Graduate School, and InterCollege. We consider the latter to be a college and refer to it as such, as it is an aggregation of interdisciplinary majors such as University Studies and Explore Technology for undecided undergraduates and the master’s program in Information Technology, as well as the PhD GBCB (Genetics, Bioinformatics and Computational Biology) and TBMH (Translational Biology, Medicine, and Health) programs and others.

IPEDS 12-month for Total Headcount & FTE; student census files for on-campus residents & online-only FTE; University DataCommons for faculty & staff fall data. The link to the faculty data in the University DataCommons is this: https://udc.vt.edu/irdata/data/faculty_staff/headcount_fte/fs/index (for faculty/staff) and https://udc.vt.edu/irdata/data/faculty_staff/headcount_fte/pd/index (for post docs). You can toggle between Headcount and FTE in the upper left.
