Data source(s) and notes about the submission:
The attached file shows the breakdown of all square footage of Virginia Tech's main campus buildings (both owned and leased). The attachment begins by going through buildings owned by Virginia Tech, providing a total of 10,199,627 GSF. It is then followed by the GSF for leased spaces, which has its own total of 1,446,376 GSF. When combining these values, we get 11,646,003 GSF for our reported Gross Floor Area of Building Space.
Within that document, after the GSF of the leased space, is the information for for all of the Laboratory Space, Healthcare Space, and Energy Intensive Space. Our values for each of these spaces decreased compared to last submission due to the fact that we are reporting more accurate figures for each of these categories. Rather than reporting an entire building's GSF which may house lab or healthcare space, we have reported just the rooms themselves containing such spaces. This makes our data much more accurate compared to previous submissions. Details about all of these spaces are provided in the attached document.
