A list of new construction and major renovation projects that indicates the green building code, policy/guideline, or rating system that applies to each building:

The total 430,295 GSF represents a total of 9 buildings with dates of LEED Certification from January 2016 to January 2021. Our attached LEED Summary Table shows all completed projects, projects pending certification, and projects under construction and design. Not all of those projects are counted towards our total. The only buildings counted towards our total are the ones built and either certified or pending certification within our 5 year timeline. The VT Carilion Biomedical Research Expansion was not counted toward our total GSF despite meeting the timeframe requirements due to the fact that it is outside of our institutional boundary established in our PRE-3 credit.

The Virginia Tech Climate Action Commitment (Presidential Policy Memorandum 262 Revision 1, dated May 9, 2013) point #6a states “Virginia Tech will improve the sustainability of its built environment by achieving LEED Silver certification or better for all eligible and applicable new buildings and major renovations.”
