The following information was provided by Dr. Ashleigh Bingham, Director of the LGBTQ+ Resource Center.

"This last summer (2019) we redesigned and launched our Safe Zone program called VirTual Safe Zone. You can find details about that training program here:
https://ccc.vt.edu/resources/safe_zone.html#:~:text=VirTual%20Safe%20Zone%20is%20a,submitted%20and%20attended%20in%20full.
In total, the program requires completion of 3 five-week trainings. In addition to LGBTQ+ History Month (https://ccc.vt.edu/calendar/LGBT_History_Month.html) in October and Pride Week (https://ccc.vt.edu/calendar/Pride_Week.html) in April, we have added Celebrate Bisexuality Day (https://youtu.be/MCP7twP0Njs) in September, Transgender Day of Remembrance (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1e5YrwUvoHkqOFmTQOTtZ0w1L3oPTmSoO/view?usp=sharing) in November, and Veteran's Day (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1jnvNadj7HnrzLwPlx1SLmj_aaRF7XgRV/view?usp=sharing) also in November to our annual event calendar.

This academic year, we expanded the work that the LGBTQ+ Working Group (https://ccc.vt.edu/index/lgbtq/lgbtq/working-group.html) is doing. We have formed task forces that have taken responsibility for certain aspects of the 2019 Renn Report (https://ccc.vt.edu/content/dam/ccc_vt_edu/doc/Virginia_Tech_LGBTQ_Report_1.4.19.pdf). As part of this work, we have been able to create and share an interactive map of all gender restrooms on campus and help to expand this offering. From these efforts, work on three new all gender restrooms began over the summer with three more having just been approved.

Presently, I am working with Housing and Residence Life and the College of Sciences and Humanities to develop a Queer/LGBTQ+ Living Learning Community and an accompanying Queer/LGBTQ+ Studies minor."
