A brief description of how the results of the assessment(s) are used in shaping policy, programs, and initiatives:
The results of the Employee Climate Survey were announced to the Virginia Tech community in February, 2014. The survey results are broken down by college and unit and shared with the Dean or Vice President, who are then asked to address issues identified in the survey. The results of the COACHE (Collaborative on Academic Careers in Higher Education) Survey of Faculty Job Satisfaction are available on the Provost’s website. These data are also broken down by college and unit, and they are asked to develop strategies for addressing survey findings. The Consortium Profile of the Undergraduate Student Experience data was analyzed as part of an undergraduate research project on campus diversity. This study was published in Philologia, Virginia Tech’s undergraduate research journal for the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences. The Graduate School climate survey has been analyzed, and a report will be available on the Graduate School website in August, 2014. This report considered both quantitative and qualitative survey results, as well as focus group findings. The LGBTQ Climate Survey is presently being analyzed.
