Part 1. Student commute modal split
Total percentage of students that use more sustainable commuting options as their primary mode of transportation:
A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about student commuting:
The Parking and Transportation survey was conducted during the spring semester of 2024 by sending the survey to the entire VCU population through the university-wide telegram. A total of 1,355 responses were collected during the 2024 VCU Parking and Transportation survey. Of these, 618 (45.6%) identified themselves as students and 730 (53.8%) reported being university faculty or university staff. Less than 1% of respondents identified as an “Other” category for their university status.
