VCU Inclusive Excellence is responsible for actualizing diversity initiatives that foster a welcoming community and support all individuals regardless of race, color, national origin, age, gender, religion, sexual orientation, political affiliation, veterans’ status and disability. This includes:

-Promoting and fostering a climate of equity, diversity and inclusiveness
-Leading efforts to strengthen VCU’s core mission and culture of inclusion and diversity
-Engaging in promoting awareness and advocacy for the LGBTQIA+ community
-Providing diversity education and consultation to increase awareness, knowledge and skills
-Serving as a campus and community resource on issues of access, diversity, excellence and inclusion

All new hires are required to complete Title IX training within their first 30 days at VCU and are required to complete Integrity training within their first 60 days covering the Code of Conduct including anti-discrimination, inclusivity, and fair employment practices.

All new students must complete the Ram Ready Online Modules as a part of the orientation process. These online modules cover all the basics and provide the information students need to successfully start the semester. Modules should be completed in order at the pace of each individual and include content that trains students on Diversity and Inclusion, Safety, Advocacy, Title IX, and Free Speech. Modules are tailored based on student status (First-Year, Transfer, International, or Student Veteran) and there is a special Family version of the modules available with bonus content specific to new VCU families.
