Zero-Waste Earth Day Picnic

A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:

Our annual Earth Day event was held at the Oasis, previously known as the Sahara site. This event was a zero-waste vegan picnic. The picnic served as a fun educational event for students and included a number of workshops. It also provided staff and students and how things like zero-waste events are possible.

Attendees at the event were treated to various sustainability workshops including; how to make an environmentally friendly cleaner, how to grow plants in an urban environment, and how to live sustainably in the residence halls. Organizations in attendance included:
