VCU ASPiRE is a living-learning program promoting community engagement through academic coursework and co-curricular experiences. The mission of VCU ASPiRE is to enrich and deepen students’ understanding of their capacity to create positive change in communities and address critical societal needs through long-term sustainable partnerships. ASPiRE co-curricular activity is dedicated to community-based needs in the following areas of impact: accessible and affordable housing, community building, education and workforce development, environmental sustainability, and health and wellness.
VCU's Ecovillage living-learning program is a community of students with a self-identified interest in sustainability. Students take a required introductory course that familiarizes them with all dimensions of sustainability and work with various community partners focused on bettering the VCU and Richmond community through volunteer opportunities and educational workshops.
