Yes

A brief description of how the institution engages in public policy advocacy for sustainability at the municipal/local level:
Since 2017 the College has actively worked with the County government in the management and reorganization of the local public transit system, and continues to support the bus system and participate in governance on an ongoing basis.

Yes

A brief description of how the institution engages in public policy advocacy for sustainability at the state/provincial/regional level:
Vassar works with regional elected officials and state-wide organizations to advocate for investment in green energy systems and other grant support for the public, especially through the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA).

Yes

In 2017 the College also joined the leadership circle for the Our Climate Coalition for Carbon Pricing, advocating for carbon pricing as a legislative priority for addressing climate change. We are also a signatory to America Is All In.
