A brief description of the methodology used to determine the total number of courses offered and to identify sustainability course offerings, including the definitions used and the process for reviewing and/or validating the course inventory :

In order to inventory sustainability-centered courses at Vassar, the Office used the Course Catalogue as a main reference point. In reviewing the Course Catalog, we searched for specific terms used in class descriptions such as sustainability, the impacts of climate change, and environmentalism. Faculty were then surveyed to capture courses that include sustainability modules and coursework, even if the official course description does not specify so.
