The Declaration of Intent on Interculturalism at Vanier College is written on a plaque located at the main entrance of the college. It was adopted by the Vanier College Board of Directors on June 4th, 2003. It states the following:
"Interculturalism at Vanier College
Foster appreciation and respect for the rich cultural and ethnic diversity of our students and staff.
Provide our students with a welcoming and caring learning environment that encourages openness towards all.
Foster a learning and working environment that is free from all forms of discrimination and harassment.
Encourage all individuals and groups to participate fully in college life and in Quebec society as a whole and to learn about and value each other.
Recognize and Promote as a strength the racial, religious, cultural, and ethnic diversity of our students and staff.
Develop programs that focus on intercultural awareness and exchanges.

Vanier’s response protocol applies to all incidents of discrimination and harassment. Different supports are available depending on who is involved in the incident: For situations between students, they will be accompanied by the Social Service Officers in the Code of Conduct office in Student Services; For situations where a student is bringing forward an experience involving an employee, they will be accompanied by the Student Advocate in Student Services;For situations between employees, they will be accompanied by the Respectful Learning and Workplace Environment Advisor at the RespectWorks Office. In addition to providing guidance and assistance in reporting/complaint procedures, these support people can also assist individuals in debriefing the emotional impact of their experience and providing the appropriate referrals to support resources based on their needs, including: a trauma-informed approach to intakes and consultations; Exercises and articles to support individual processing and reflection; Referrals to support resources such as the Employee Assistance Program, Community Resources, and private/sliding scale resources via active referrals, phone numbers, sharing of resource lists.

The A’no:wara Indigenous Student Center is the on-campus center for status or non-status First Nations, Métis and Inuit students during their studies at Vanier. The A’no:wara Center provides a social gathering space and academic support for the community.
Open Door Network is a network of people at the College that seek to inform and sensitize staff and students about sexual orientation and gender identity. It provides resources for people in need and supports policies that ensure that the college campus is a safe, non-discriminatory space.
