2018-2023 Sustainability Action Plan
Goal 2.1 That environmental content be brought into every program: To create an inventory of programs incorporating sustainability issues in the curriculum. Future objectives include having at least 10 programs in the College and 5 departments develop clear sustainability goals.
Goal 2.2 Establish more inter-disciplinary and community links: Objective is to increase partnerships by doubling garden visits, adding at least one French Block B class, and continuing to promote complementary courses with a sustainability component.
Goal 2.3 Find opportunities for students to work on projects evaluating and finding solutions for Vanier within the context of a course. The objective is to highlight student projects and have at least two sustainability projects initiated every year.

Goal: 1.3: Community links: To follow up with Architectural Technology partnership with Ville St-Laurent’s Decelles street project (among others). Continue to develop partnerships.
Goal: 4. Help educate various College groups (students, staff, employees) about the importance of waste management, sustainable transportation, water consumption etc. Objective is to create awareness campaigns for these topics with the aim at reducing consumption in general and consumption of water, transition to sustainable transportation methods etc.

Goal 3.6: Energy use – Continue to reduce energy consumption in heating and electricity in the College. Promote the continued institution of energy-saving measures in all purchasing, renovation and building projects as well as supporting the College in tracking energy consumption.
Goal 3.4: Water – Reduce our consumption of water by 10% through technological and educational initiatives. To keep replacing urinals and water fountains, as they need to be replaced, with smarter designs.
Goal 3.2 Waste Management – Reduce our waste output by 20%, Recycle 50% of Vanier’s outgoing waste. An objective is to establish areas that need recycling stations and install them as needed and explore compost options.
