Campus Biodiversity Network (CBN)
A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:
Developed by a teacher at Vanier College, and launched in Fall 2022 at the COP15 UN Conference on biodiversity, the Campus Biodiversity Network aims to promote campus greenspace observation and protection through the tracking of species observations through the iNaturalist app. The CBN encourages students, staff, and faculty at educational institutions in Montreal and beyond to champion their institutions’ greenspaces and connect with others through citizen-science observation. Funded by Vanier College and the Canadian Wildlife Federation.
