Does the institution have an active student group focused on sustainability?:
Yes

Name and a brief description of the active student groups focused on sustainability:

Vanier College has an active student group focused on sustainability. Whether it’s called the Green Team, the Sustainability Squad, or VC5, the group is open to all students who are interested in being engaged in sustainability. Official membership ranges from 5 students to 19, depending on the year, and the group meets biweekly to organize activities together to promote and raise awareness about topics related to sustainability in collaboration with the Sustainability Office. Examples of such activities include Fairtrade Campus week kiosks, battery recycling campaigns, water awareness week and yearly thematic activities the group prioritizes based on their interests such as zero waste or veganism. In 2019-2020, this group’s feedback was instrumental in the development of Vanier’s new Sustainability Policy. Going forward the goal is to include this student group’s voice more in all sustainability related initiatives, internal policies, plans, and procedures to compliment student representation on VCACE.
