Development and Support Opportunities (DSO) Program
Following up on objective 1.2 of Vanier’s 2015-2020 Strategic Plan, Support excellence and innovation in all aspects of teaching and learning, the Academic Dean’s Office is offering development and support opportunities for teachers, departments, and programs. This support comes in the form of release time for teachers with a daytime load who want to engage in one of three types of projects: Research Project, Pedagogical Innovation Project and Co-curricular Project.
Examples of Sustainability Pedagogical projects
2019-2020 Alyson Jones in the Humanities department project focuses on pedagogical strategies for decolonizing college courses about culture and the arts.
2019-2020 Jacky Vallee in the Anthropology department project focuses on indigenizing the curriculum across programs.
2019-2020 Myriam Mansour's project was the Garden Academic Project: Vanier Gardens as a Pedagogical Avenue Towards Student Success
There is also Stephan Bourget working on developing a sustainability strand for core physics courses.

Release time. Support available from Pedagogical Support and Innovation (PSI) department include workshops on how to prepare a research, pedagogical innovation or co-curricular proposal and on how to conduct pedagogical innovation projects.
