A brief description of programs, policies, infrastructure investments, outreach efforts, and/or other factors that contributed to the diversion rate for construction and demolition waste:
The State of Utah requires state buildings meet high performance building standards. USU requires buildings to achieve LEED Silver requirements. Buildings completing certification in 2019-2021 include: USU IT Building. Central Suites was designed to LEED Silver standards, but the certification was not completed due to an error. However, most buildings going through the certification process track waste and divert it from the landfill when feasible.
