The Student Sustainability Office mission is to make a concrete place on campus where students can funnel their green ideas, obtain research grants for sustainability, and find out more ways to participate in sustainable living both during their time at USU and into their futures.

A brief description of the activities and substantive accomplishments of the institution-wide coordinating body or officer during the previous three years:
The university has implemented carshare and rideshare programs. A matching, labelled recycling systems rolled out on campus in the 2014-2015 school year, and an industrial composter now handles pre-consumer food waste from Dining Services. The university participates in Energy Wars in the fall to reduce energy consumption and Recyclemania in the spring to reduce waste production as well as several other engagement events. The university has begun a Green office program and implementing transportation demand management strategies as a par of a new transportation master plan. An EcoHouse-themed Living Learning Community began in the 2013-2014 school year. The Planetary Thinking in the Curriculum initiative was launched in 2016.
