A brief description of the methodology the institution followed to complete the research inventory (including the types of faculty and staff included as researchers):
We requested a list of all research funded in the 2014-2015 financial year with descriptions. A student intern reviewed all research on the list and identified sustainability-related research.

The number of departments conducting research exceeds the number of academic departments listed in IC-3 because there are research divisions on campus that are not academic departments and do not directly correspond to academic departments. Both the identified departments conducting research and the subset of departments conducting sustainability research are in the attached spreadsheet.
