A brief description of the institution's stormwater management initiatives:

Utah State University’s stormwater falls under Logan City’s Storm Water Management Plan. Contractors are required to follow Logan City’s Storm Water Management Plan as it relates to construction practices. The plan targets nitrogen, phosphorus, pH, total dissolved solids, and E coli. It includes a discussion of impaired waters, endangered species, best management practices, and compliance with minimum control measures.

Yes

Early Childhood Education and Research Center (ECERC) has a green roof on lower part of the roof. The new east wing of the Merrill-Cazier Library is capable of a green roof but does not yet have one.

Distance Education (RCDE) has porous paving at its entrances. Also, some small areas around campus have brick or concrete pavers that allow water to drain.

USU central campus primarily uses dry wells for storm drainage. Dry wells on parking lots require oil/sand separation before the dry wells (State Division of Water Quality requirement). Other dry wells tie directly to the roof drains of buildings. (USU does not allow hazardous chemicals in roof mounted equipment.) Several also collect water from landscaped areas.
