8.1 Food recovery program
Narrative and/or website URL providing an overview of the institution’s surplus food donation program:
During the 2023-2024 academic year, the student run group Wismer on Wheels worked with the college’s dining service provider to recover and donate prepared but unsold food to local food pantries. The student group works as part of the Food Recovery Network.

Although Ursinus College does not currently divert post consumer food waste to a composting/digestion system, this option is currently being evaluated for feasibility.
