Description of the process used to identify the institution’s sustainability research:
An inventory of various announcements of presentations, publications, and grant funding was conducted. Faculty identified from that inventory were contacted and asked to voluntarily report on their scholarship endeavors. The listings provided in the reporting tool are a conservative estimate of current research at the college as it relates to sustainability.

6.2 Incentives for sustainability research
Description of the sustainability research incentives for academic staff:
Although there are not dedicated funds to solely support sustainability research, Ursinus College does have incentives for faculty to pursue their scholarly endeavors. For example, the Provost’s Office supports faculty research and creative activities through professional development funds to support research. Full-time faculty are eligible to apply for the professional development funding up to $1500. More information can be found at the faculty development webpage.

Description of the sustainability research incentives for students:
There are various opportunities for students to be engaged with research at the college. Although there are not funds that are identified for the sole purpose of student research on sustainability. All students are welcome to apply for an eight week summer program to explore a research question with a faculty mentor. Research topics are up to the discretion of the student, but often times sustainability is directly related or supported by the research exploration. Students stay on campus during the 8 week program and receive a stipend. More information can be found at the summer fellows website.
