A brief description of the institution’s main campus and other aspects of the institutional boundary used to complete this report:

The information provided is based on the entire main campus, located in Whitewater, Wisconsin, which is mostly in Walworth County and partially in Jefferson County near the north end of campus. The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater main campus includes about 405 acres of land on the north end of Whitewater, Wisconsin. All buildings and grounds included within the main campus boundary is included in the scope of this report.

Additional institutional scope will soon include the University of Wisconsin-Rock County campus in Janesville, Wisconsin and the former Sentry Grocery building, now known as the Community Engagement Center (CEC), in Whitewater, Wisconsin. UW-Rock County will be operated as a satellite campus at the completion of the merger.

These entities are not included in the scope of the 2018 submission because the merger with UW-Rock County will not be complete until July 1, 2018 and the CEC will not be operational until late 2018 or early 2019.

Which of the following features are present on campus and which are included within the institutional boundary?:
Present? Included?
Agricultural school No No
Medical school No No
Other professional school with labs and clinics (e.g. dental, nursing, pharmacy, public health, veterinary) No No
Satellite campus Yes No
Farm larger than 5 acres or 2 hectares No No
Agricultural experiment station larger than 5 acres or 2 hectares No No
Hospital No No

The rationale for excluding any features that are present from the institutional boundary:

Additional land holdings not contiguous to the main campus or holdings by UW-Whitewater Foundation is not included. No additional facilities, farms, or satellite campuses are included. Neighboring apartments being leased by Residence Life to accommodate overflow of University Housing students are not included as part of the population or square footage of the campus for purposes of this report because energy and water data are not available and not paid with public funds. University Housing, an auxiliary unit, pays these costs directly to the property owners from their own operating budget.
