Yes

A brief description of the sustainability-focused immersive program(s) offered by the institution, including how each program addresses the social, economic, and environmental dimensions of sustainability:

Adventure Patagonia: Outdoor Leadership & Sustainable Development Travel Study: This course provides a theoretical and applied study of outdoor living skills and leadership, sustainable development, and the ecosystems and culture of the Aysen region of Patagonian Chile. Alongside local guides and entrepreneurs, students will explore nature-based tourism and investigate how this tourism can be an agent of sustainable development. This travel study was offered in Winterim 2016 and will be offered in Winterim 2019 as Patagonia: Sea Kayaking and Nature-based Tourism.

Peru: Water & Sustainability Travel Study: Today, part of the fast-growing Latin American world, Peru faces new challenges to balance economic development and its heavy demands on water and other resources with the needs to preserve and sustain the distinctive cultures, famous cuisine, and extraordinary natural beauty that make the country unique. This course examines how Peru, both ancient and modern, has attempted to achieve this delicate balance, and the dangers it faces if it fails to do so. Students interested in environmental sustainability, international development, and social justice issues will find the problems facing Peru both timely and complex. This course was offered in Spring 2016. A different travel study in this region of the world, Panama: Tropical Conservation, will be offered in Fall 2018.
