A brief description of programs, policies, infrastructure investments, outreach efforts, and/or other factors that contributed to the diversion rate for construction and demolition waste:

"0" was indicated above because Physical Plant does not have these numbers. DOA/DFD tracks this information through WIS CAP. The primary project manager at DOA/ DFD said he does not see the information pertaining to waste and recycling as contractors submit the information directly to the WIS CAP program. Once a large scale project is complete, data concerning construction recycling would be available upon request.

**Small internal projects are not tracked.

All State funded construction projects recycle and minimize items to the waste stream. The State construction projects are not contracted through Physical Plant but through DOA/ DFD. The contract requires recycling for the various materials on a construction site: asphalt, concrete, concrete masonry block, sheet rock, wood , metal, cardboard, light bulbs, mercury, carpet, paint, etc.

General Services mainly provides maintenance activities, recycling metal, card board and previous separated paper. GS also reclaims refrigerant from items before recycling them. The small amount of construction debris generated is put into the waste dumpster. Metal duct work is the only item returned to GS to the metal dumpster.
