Data source(s) and notes about the submission:
We do not have a way of tracking ENERGY STAR purchases, but we do attempt to make this a requirement (when applicable) when getting quotes and bids for energy consuming items.
We use the following language in our bids:
"ENERGY STAR: Energy Consuming Equipment means any equipment that is designed for heating, ventilation, air conditioning, water heating or cooling, lighting, refrigeration, or any other function, and that consumes energy (www.energystar.gov/purchasing).
Under 2005 Wisconsin Act 141, The State of Wisconsin has adopted a policy of preferred purchasing for energy consuming equipment. Prospective vendors will incorporate ENERGY STAR® products or products/commodities that meet or exceed ENERGY STAR® specifications into their bids or proposals. Bidder should identify those items which meet the Energy Star requirements on ATTACHMENT B: ITEMIZED BID LIST."
The paper companies we buy from are involved in FSC, but not to the level of copier paper.
