A brief description of how the institution engages in public policy advocacy for sustainability, including the issues, bills, and ordinances for or against which the institution has advocated:
UW-Stout has representatives on the Dunn County Pedestrian and Bicycling Committee, which advises the County Planning Commission. UW-Stout representatives also sit on the Joint Sustainability Working Group with Dunn County and the City of Menomonie.
Additionally, UW-Stout's campus administration has advocated with the Wisconsin Department of Administration to provide incentives to the UW System campuses for energy efficiency and conservation, to keep the financial savings of these measures at the individual campus level. We have also worked locally on economic development for the Menomonie Community, to create a more vibrant downtown with more businesses and more jobs.
