A brief description of the snow and ice removal program, policy, or practice:
The goal is to minimize the use of salt and ideally not use any salt on campus. To minimize salt, grounds keeping pre-treats surfaces with sodium chloride brine and when it gets colder, a sodium chloride and magnesium chloride brine combination. Routes for snow and ice removal are also set up to be as fuel efficient as possible.
