In 2020-2021 a UW System wide initative to gauge campus climate was started and a survey was sent out across all 13 institutions, including UWSP. Within this campus climate survey, students were asked to share their experiences. Following this campus climate survey a strategic plan for the Universities of Wisconsin has been developed. As part of this plan a strong emphasis on diverse students, faculty and staff was emphasized in terms of recruiting and retaining. Furthermore, part of the retention plan is to ensure that people who identify with these diverse groups of people feel safe on campus. This inherently is heightening the UW systems stance on DEI education and training as well as providing safe spaces and facilities for individuals that need them.

• Office of the Dean of Students adjudicates violations of University policy. Sanctions have ranged from educational coursework, removal from current hall or from campus housing, parental notification, to suspension
• All reports of bias- and hate-related incidents are investigated to the fullest extent possible, based on the facts provided

In 2020-2021 a UW System wide initative to gauge campus climate was started and a survey was sent out across all 13 institutions, including UWSP. Within this campus climate survey, students were asked to share their experiences. Following this campus climate survey a strategic plan for the Universities of Wisconsin has been developed. As part of this plan a strong emphasis on diverse students, faculty and staff was emphasized in terms of recruiting and retaining. Furthermore, part of the retention plan is to ensure that people who identify with these diverse groups of people feel safe on campus. This inherently is heightening the UW systems stance on DEI education and training as well as providing safe spaces and facilities for individuals that need them.

In 2004, 2008, and 2015, the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point conducted university-wide surveys in order to assess the diversity climate on our campus. "Campus climate" is defined as the campus environment as it relates to interpersonal, academic, and professional interactions. Responses from previous UWSP climate surveys have led to increased funding for diversity and inclusion initiatives, including:

Funding for a Case Manager Position
The results of the current survey provides important information about the campus diversity climate and will help inform University efforts to ensure that the environment is conducive to working and learning for all members of our campus community.
