A brief description of the institution’s sustainability projects fund:
$12/ year of student segregated fees is allocated to funding sustainable initiatives on our UWSP campus and field stations (Central Wisconsin Environmental Station, Treehaven, and Schmeekle Forest Preserve). The green fund has funded solar panel materials and installations, ecological restoration, ERBIn recycling app marketing, electric vehicle charging stations and composting equipment.
A brief description of the multi-stakeholder decision-making process used to determine which projects receive funding through the sustainability projects fund:
Greenfund is run by the Student Sustainability and Environmental Affairs director through Student Government Association. This student facilitates the meeting however cannot vote on projects. The committee is made up of 8-15 students. Greenfund meetings have the applicants present their case and students deliberate whether or not to fund the project. The next meeting, students vote in support or against funding the project. The proposal is then taken to SUFAC committee to approve. Students on the committee represent a variety of areas such as a required Residential Living Association member, Office of Sustainability member, and members from each college, including graduate students.

There is also a small fundaraiser created fund that the Office of Sustaianbility utilizes for smaller, non-revolving projects.
