1st campaign

Name of the campaign:
Green Recognication of Workspaces/Office

A brief description of the campaign:
GROW is a certification program that recognizes campus offices that serve as leaders in sustainability by lessening their environmental impact. Through this program, we hope to challenge staff and students throughout UWSP to foster healthier, more environmentally friendly workspaces through individual and collective actions.

A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign:
The GROW program has grown over the last year due to a dedicated student staff member from the Office of Sustainability pushing it forward. Not only have several offices come on board and but we have multiple offices making adjustments and changes in order to recertify higher, at a later date.

This program has increased sustainability awareness but has also started to create subtle competition between offices and departments to be better environmental stewards.

Campus Electronics Recycling Drive

A brief description of the campaign (2nd campaign):
The UW-Stevens Point Waste Management Society hosted a Campus Recycling Drive towards the end of the 2023 Spring Semester for students to properly dispose of any items they do not wish to carry into the Summer. Majority of items were free for students and staff, the community was encouraged to participate but small fees were asked.

A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign (2nd campaign):
R3NEW, the service provider was impressed by the turnout and they were able to take every item that was brought by UWSP students and staff. This was also noted by facilities that noted a reduction in trash which is often an issue at the end of the academic year due to students moving out.
