A brief description of the methodology the institution followed to complete the research inventory:
The Office of Sustainability contacted each department for an list of all faculty and staff doing research. They were asked to provide a description of their research. Office of Sustainability staff reviewed the descriptions to determine if their research was related to sustainability.
Faculty working with undergraduate researchers were counted so long as they were the primary chair or mentor for the research. Students not employed by the university were not counted.
Sustaianbility was identified by these six core principles: Transformative Learning, Systems Thinking, Ecological Thought, Futures Thinking, Diversity and Social Justic and Ethical Action.
