Name of the institution’s featured sustainability program, initiative, or accomplishment:
Bee Campus USA ceritifcation

A brief description of the institution’s featured program, initiative, or accomplishment:

UW-Stevens Point was the first UW system school to earn Bee Campus USA recognition. Our efforts around Bee Campus certification has inspired one other UW to get their certification UWGB and others have been actively reaching out to us as they start campaigns for guidance on how to move forward. Most recently our campaign director recorded a session presentation for GCSHE on her efforts. Lastly I think all of us involved would like to say that our 202 recognition helped in some small way to influence our community's first "No Mow May" in 2021 which got a lot of support throughout the community.

Name of a second highlighted sustainability program/initiative/accomplishment:
Bronze LAB-BFU Certification

A brief description of the second program/initiative/accomplishment:

We earned our Bronze Certification on our third attempt over the course of over four years. The first attempt simply yielded feedback and areas for growth, the second attempt resulted in honorable mention and the third time was indeed the charm. This certification was the result of a lot of hard work from a variety of people and is a nice compliment to our community's silver certification.

Name of a third highlighted program/initiative/accomplishment:
Continued and improving waste and composting program

A brief description of the third program/initiative/accomplishment:

In 2019 our Campus received recognition from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) the recycling excellence for Overall Program Award. In the History of The DNR's recycling program this is the first time the Overall Program Award has been given to a Higher Education Institution. And I'm proud to say are Nomination was done by a then student and now Alum of our Waste Management degree program. On top of that during the Winterim of 2020/21 our compost program went through a significant phase two update. We increased composting accessibility across all Res Halls going from one main composting receptacle in the basement of each Res Hall to having one bin on every floor in the shared kitchen thus making compost for our onsite residents extremely more convenient and accessible. During this phase tow expansion we also added and additional composting unit to the third floor of every academic and admin building on site essentially doubling our capacity for organics and compostable wares. These additions also included broad messaging about the upgrade.
