A brief description of the institution’s formal participatory or shared governance bodies:
Common Council is the representative body of academic staff, faculty, and university staff in UW-Stevens Point shared governance. All university personnel (academic staff, faculty, and university staff) play an important role in recommending policies to the administration in many areas; academic and curricular issues are the specific responsibility of faculty and academic staff.
Student Government Association’s role is to be active participants in the governance of the university, representing student interests, and creating policies concerning student life, services, and interests. We maintain the sole authority over the disposition of the allocable Segregated University Fees and the review of non-allocable Segregated University Fees. We also appoint students for institutional governance positions.
