Campus Cup

A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:

In October 2020, the UW-Stevens Point Office of Sustainability partnered with OrganiCup to offer free menstrual cups to students as part of the Campus Cup program. We received 501 menstrual cups to hand out, which will eliminate 264,528 pads and tampons worth of waste while they are in use. Approximately 300 menstrual cups were received by students in October 2020. We ran a second Campus Cup campaign during Earth Week 2021, where approximately 100 more students were given free menstrual cups. This program engaged the campus in learning about sustainability in menstrual products, eliminated waste from single-use menstrual products, and made sustainability more affordable by making menstrual cups available to students for free.
