Does the institution have an ongoing program that offers incentives for academic staff in multiple disciplines or departments to develop new sustainability courses and/or incorporate sustainability into existing courses? :
Yes
A brief description of the incentive program(s):
The UW-River Falls Sustainability Faculty Fellows Committee meets regularly to advance sustainability principles related to academics. Since the program began in 2011, more than 75 Sustainability Faculty Fellows have participated in the sustainability across the curriculum project, formerly referred to as the "The Kinnickinnic Project" and now referred to as the "Infusing Sustainability Across the Curriculum" workshop.
This project is unique, in that it cultivates and supports a cross campus initiative and model, which encourages faculty members to modify or redesign existing curriculum so that students are prepared to understand and meet 21st century sustainability issues within all aspects of their lives. All faculty and Instructional Academic Staff are invited to participate.
As a result, our university curriculum has been transformed to include courses that integrate sustainability, courses that have been substantially altered to include critical course objectives addressing sustainability, and new courses developed to place sustainability issues at the forefront of the discipline. Since the inception of the 1st workshop, faculty members from across all colleges have either integrated sustainability into an existing course, have substantively re-designed courses, and in some cases have created new courses around sustainability.

A brief description of the incentives that academic staff who participate in the program(s) receive:
Participants receive a stipend for participating in the training and for incorporating sustainability into at least one course. The stipend amount varies depending on annual budgets and number of participants, but averages $500 per participant. Changes are vetted through the Sustainability Faculty Fellows Steering Committee to ensure sustainability is adequately represented. Additionally, some courses then qualify for inclusion in the Sustainable Justice Minor.
