City Sampler (2019)

A brief description of the campaign:
"City Sampler," A UWRF sponsored, community event, focuses on bringing people together to learn about the importance of being an engaged community member and supporting the local economy. Participants in the event on campus can sample local foods and learn how local businesses, organizations, and student clubs help meet everyday needs. The event was free and open to the public as well.

A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign:
Over 500 participants attended. There were over 40 non profits/clubs and orgs/local businesses were at the event to engage students, staff, and the wider community. The organizations were able to promote their services and products to UWRF students, faculty, and staff. The event serves as a great way for students to learn the community resources available to them at the start of the academic year.

Sustainability Day and Week

A brief description of the campaign (2nd campaign):
Sponsored by the UWRF Student Government Association, Sustainability Week featured a variety of events including a Sustainability Day Event, a film screening, a Climate Action Rally, and a campus cleanup. The Sustainability Day event featured over campus and regional organizations working to advance sustainability efforts. The Climate Action Rally featured a UWRF Professor in Environmental Science, the Energy Efficiency Coordinator from the City of River Falls, a climate activist from MN 350, and a representative from a sustainable business, Askov Finlayson.

A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign (2nd campaign):
The primary goal of this campaign was to increase people's understandings of sustainability, both on campus and the broader regional and global implications. The event was followed up by a campus survey assessing sustainability culture which included measuring people's awareness of campus initiatives and broader issues.
