Title or keywords related to the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:
A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:
An examination was done on whether the presence of a “greenwall” (a living wall of plants) was associated with higher levels of workspace satisfaction, academic self-efficacy, mood, and performance in an academic classroom. It was found that students in a greenwall-enhanced classroom scored higher on all study variables than students in a control classroom.
A brief description of any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation (if not reported above):
The research found no pre-installation differences between the two classrooms. In contrast, for the post-installation comparisons, students in the greenwall room scored significantly higher on the measures of workspace satisfaction, academic self-efficacy, and mood. For the paired spring classes, it was found that academic performance was significantly better in the greenwall room (mean GPA = 3.11) than in the control room (mean GPA = 2.91).
