A brief description of how the institution engages in public policy advocacy for sustainability at the municipal/local level:
Over the past few years we have worked with the City to help institute policies that promote sustainable transportation for our students and community. Specifically we partnered with the City to develop a public bus system (started in summer of 2015). We have met with the Platteville Safe Routes to School Committee, Platteville Parks and Recreation Committee, and attended Platteville Common Council meetings to advocate for the adoption of expanded bus service, bicycle sharrows, bike lanes, and bicycle parking downtown.
