Does the institution conduct an assessment of sustainability culture?:
Which of the following best describes the cultural assessment? The assessment is administered to::
Which of the following best describes the structure of the cultural assessment? The assessment is administered::
A brief description of how and when the cultural assessment(s) were developed and/or adopted:
We first did this survey in 2015 but only included students that year. In 2017 & 2019 we did both students and faculty, and we intend to continue every other year with both groups. To develop the survey, we used a sampling of the same questions used by many AASHE institutions (Roosevelt University, UW-La Crosse, The Ohio State University, University of Maryland, etc) so we could compare our results to a broader sampling. We also added questions that we were interested in.

The student survey is attached. We ask recipients about their familiarity with sustainability and whether they would like to see a series of more sustainability features on campus.
A brief description of how representative samples were reached (if applicable) and how the cultural assessment is administered:
We conducted on online survey administered to a representative sampling of all UW-Platteville students (developed by the campus Assessment Office using their standard protocols) and to ALL faculty and staff (not a representative sampling) during April of 2022. Each recipient could only respond once and responses were kept anonymous (we could not connect responses to individuals). We had a response rate of 11.12% for students and 32.86% for faculty/staff. The assessment is administered to a representative sample of students in April of every other year; the next survey will be administered in April 2025.
A brief summary of results from the cultural assessment:
We ask a series of question such as "how interested are you in having campus provide.. xxx" and students are very interested in more renewable energy on campus, more energy efficiency, landfill reduction, and native planting on campus. We also asked how interested they were in sustainability. We saw faculty/staff interest fall from 95% to 93% and student interest fall from 85% to 77% between 2019-2022.
