A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about student commuting:
We completed an online survey of students in spring of 2019. The survey was administered to statistical sampling of students equally distributed across gender and enrollment year. Each student could only respond once and responses were kept anonymous (we could not connect responses to individuals). We had a response rate of 15.95%.

We completed an online survey of all faculty and staff in spring of 2019. The survey was administered to all faculty and staff. Each recipient could only respond once and responses were kept anonymous (we could not connect responses to individuals). We had a response rate of 36.31%.
