Campus Grown Hydroponics
A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:
In fall 2019 campus opened a new hydroponics center in Glenview Commons that grows all of the lettuce served in Dining Services. This hydroponics facility not only cuts down on our food transportation miles, but was installed in an repurposed dishroom on campus, is run by students from the School of Agriculture, and was designed and built by students in the Sustainable and Renewable Energy Systems major to be highly energy efficient.
