Inventory of the institution’s sustainability research:

See attached list.

A brief description of the methodology the institution followed to complete the research inventory:

An ad hoc committee was formed in 2016 to research this question. We emailed all teaching faculty and staff to ask them whether their researched focused on sustainability. This list includes all those that said they did. In 2019 we updated the list by reaching out to existing faculty on this list and reaching out to new faculty across campus.

Data source(s) and notes about the submission:

Total number of the institution’s faculty and/or staff that are engaged in research (headcount): We don't have a number of those engaged in active research, so we chose to include the headcount of all faculty for 2018-19 to be conservative. https://www.wisconsin.edu/accountability/faculty-and-staff//

Total number of academic departments: Majors

Number of academic departments (or the equivalent) that include at least one faculty or staff member that conducts sustainability research: Again, we used "majors" as our "academic dept." Faculty listed above as doing research in sustainability teach in 15 majors on campus.
