A brief description of the RECs and/or similar renewable energy products:
The State of Wisconsin purchases all electricity consumed in state-owned facilities. In 2005, Act 141 passed and required 10% of all electricity to come from renewable sources by the end of 2007, and 20% of all electricity to come from renewable sources by the end of 2011, if economically feasible. During the 2015 Fiscal Year, the state purchased 116,386,667 kwh of renewable energy RECS. The UW-System allocates this energy purchase to each campus based on local electrical energy use. UW-Platteville's FY15 allocation was 2.69% of this state total, or 3,135,002.09 kwh (10688.82 mmbtu).
