A brief description of the institution’s employee community service initiatives:
Faculty are encouraged to participate in community service opportunities through the CCBLLR both on and off campus. Some departments allow “release” time for staff to participate in service, however you must check with your supervisor. Faculty and staff can sign up to help out at the food pantry or at The Gathering. The CCBLLR holds at least one episodic event a month—usually on Saturdays—and we encourage UWM families to join us.

Data source(s) and notes about the submission:
The total number of students is all undergrad and graduate full-time students according to the Fall 2015 Headcount report. The total number of students participating in community service (over 5000) is the number of students participating in programs run by UW-Milwaukee who have logged hours (students may be double counted, though student participation in volunteer activities outside of coordination by CCBLLR is not counted).
